The inaugural World Vape Industry Awards programme has kicked off with the launch of its official website (www.worldvapeawards.com). Members of the global vape industry can visit the site for more information on this very anticipated international industry event.
At this inaugural programme a total of 69 Gold Awards will be presented in 6 categories, namely: Devices (for E-Cigs and Vape Mods), Tanks or Cartridges (for E-Cigs and Vape Mods), Liquids, Industry Supply Chain, Media and Industry Advocates. The programme will culminate in the awards presentation ceremony and gala dinner event that is scheduled to take place in Jakarta, Indonesia towards the end of March 2018.
Entry submissions for the 69 categories of awards will be open from the 11th of December 2017 until the end of the year. The closing of all online entry submissions will be at midnight (GMT – Greenwich Mean Time) on the 11th January 2017. Submissions for all categories must be made online via the official awards website. For the relevant categories, sample products must be sent for the judging process. The deadline for all sample products (devices and liquids) to be received by the awards secretariat, which is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is the 15th of January 2018.
The submissions in all 69 categories will be judged according to a very stringent list of criteria that will cover technical and non-technical areas that will include customer experience and successful branding. Each category will be judged by an international panel of judges. The judging panels are made up of individuals who are established members of the global vape community and industry leaders. The judging sessions will take place between the 22nd and the 27th of January, 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Which is where the awards secretariat for this years’ edition of the awards programme is based.
The judging process in each category will be made up of two components; official judging by the panels of judges and public voting which will make up an average of 5% of the points for the total score of each submission. This is to allow for participation from the group who are the most important component of the industry – the end users or vapers around the world. From the 20th till the 31st of January 2018.
In each category, the top five submissions will get an official nomination and will be invited to attend the awards presentation ceremony and gala dinner event in Jakarta, Indonesia at the end of March 2018. All nominees will receive a Merit award, although only one nominee will be presented with the coveted gold award.
Award recipients for this inaugural programme will have the distinguished honour of being the first in their respective categories to ever win such an award. Having won the award, the recipients will get the rights to use the World Vape Industry Award 2018 logo in all their marketing and communications. They will be recognized by the global media for their achievement and will be looked upon by all players in the industry as the benchmark of excellence.
Allan Foo, founder and past president of MEVTA (Malaysian E-Vaporizer and Tobacco Alternative Association) and Awards Director, explained that it is the right time to have such an awards programme on a global scale because the industry has grown in leaps and bounds over the last decade.
“Like any other industry, there are numerous components in the supply chain that make this phenomenal growth possible. From device and liquid manufacturers to distributors, wholesalers and retailers, from the industry advocates to the promoters and influencers, all play a role towards the development of the industry across the globe,” said Allan Foo.
“The World Vape Industry Awards 2018 (WVIA 2018) programme was created to identify and recognize the highest levels of excellence achieved in the industry as well as outstanding contributions towards industry growth by both organizations and individuals,” he added.
