Forget his iconic batarangs and ever-trusty shark repellent, the caped crusader has added a new gadget to his crime-fighting collection…a vape.
Viral new footage has revealed Hollywood superstar Robert Pattinson hid a vape in his costume on the set of The Batman.
The behind-the-scenes clip – which has exploded on social media – shows Pattinson dressed in full cowl and cape as a crew member places the device in a pouch on his utility belt.
And while it’s not clear if it was regularly stored amongst the Dark Knight’s catalogue of high-tech gadgets, fans were thrilled that the device may have made a secret appearance in DC’s latest comic book flick.
One twitter user commented that they would ‘love to see Batman disappear behind a giant vape cloud’ while another called the latest portrayal of the iconic vigilante ‘the hero we deserve’.
Fans even joked about how vaping would reshape the character’s crimefighting crusade, with one highlighting the ‘terror’ that Gotham’s villains must feel when they smell Batman’s ‘sweet mint vapour’.
Although this is the first time the ‘world’s greatest detective’ – previously played by stars like Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck – has been caught with an e-cigarette, it’s not the first time Pattinson’s vaping habit has made an impression on set.
He also used a device while shooting Netflix’s historical epic ‘The King’, with co-star Timothée Chalamet saying his funniest memory from filming was watching Robert Pattinson vape in full armour.
The star has even taken his e-cigarette to red carpet Hollywood events, reportedly using a vape at a number of awards shows and film premieres.
Robert Pattinson’s behind-the-scenes Batman vaping antics – which were unveiled alongside a bevy of bonus footage for the film’s HBO Max release – has seen thousands of reactions online.
