Milton Keynes-based e-liquid company Riot Labs has successfully submitted seven applications to market their products in the US.
The Premarket Tobacco Applications (PMTAs) are for Pink Grenade, Sub Lime, Tropical Fury, Blue Burst, Cherry Fizzle, Rich Black Grape and Ultra Peach Tea in various freebase nicotine, salt nicotine and zero milligram formulations.
The successful applications are the culmination of two years of work and the submission of more than 1.8 million pages of scientific data.
Riot Labs CEO, Ben Johnson, said:

Manufacturers are required to prove that their products are beneficial to public health and are not likely to attract non-smokers or under-21s.
Only e-liquid and hardware that was available on the market before August 8, 2016 can remain on sale while the FDA assesses the new applications.
Products containing nicotine that are “made or derived from tobacco” are regulated by the FDA as tobacco products under the 2016 Deeming Rule, meaning the vast majority of the current market is unauthorised.
The application phase is just the start of a long and vigorous process that is likely to take many months for the FDA to complete.
The agency is processing countless applications from vape companies from all over the world.
Other companies to successfully submit PMTAs include Vaporesso, Charlie’s Chalk Dust and SMOK.
Riot Labs joined the Vapor Technology Association (VTA) in January this year.
The group represents manufacturers, wholesalers and small business-owners and lobbies for ‘smart regulations and responsible public policies.’
Riot Labs is “assist[ing] the VTA in their efforts to save an industry which can change lives,” Johnson said.
